Luangwa Bush CampingBush camping with Robin Pope Safaris

This is a chance to be taken out of your comfort zone for a brief period, thrilling your senses with the sights, sounds and smells of Africa in the raw, all under the close supervision of our highly trained and experienced guides.

Luangwa Bush Camping - bush camping can be arranged on route between our two camps, Tena Tena Safari Camp and Nsefu Safari Camp. This involves walking in game rich riverine habitats. Some of our guests are apprehensive at first about sleeping out in the bush - but almost everybody reports it to be a highlight of their time with us in Zambia.

Mupamadzi Bush Camping - during the month of October there is the chance to walk in the Mupamadzi River area and camp under a grove of trees. The Mupamadzi is a clear water perennial tributary of the Luangwa River, and will be the last water source for game at the end of the dry season.  The area is diverse in habitat as it is near the escarpment and so species that aren’t common along the Luangwa River are found, such as roan, hartebeest and reedbuck.  The safaris, with maximum of six guests, leave Nkwali every Sunday and Thursday.
